![]() I always thought (and still kinda do) think that when teachers always said ""when you go to middle/high school next year, things won't work how you want and things are gonna be a hole lot harder!"". There will be times when you feel like your gonna fail a class or just get a bad grade overall but thats just the price you pay with going to a new school in a new enviroment. In the 6th, the school may seem bad to some but its just the nerves of starting middle school. "okay okay, this is from the tales of an 8th grade student about to graduate from sudbrook magnet middle school. The teachers do a lot for their students. Overall, it was a great experience and I learned a lot. She is the best performing arts teacher there. ![]() The String magnet was the best class there is at the school. I wish they would teach us more of the tech aspect of the theater, they did a great job of it in level 2, but after that they never reviewed it.The chorus magnet is okay, but then again it shows a lot of favoritism. It is nice that they do those things for us, but I would like if they allowed us to help when they are building stuff, or if they taught us what they were doing when they were doing it so we could learn and apply it to the theater. When it came to Musical or play season, the teachers would make us sit in the auditorium and do busy work while they work on the set for the after school productions. For most of the time the class didn't really do anything, and we had basically 90 minutes of free time. The theater magnet was okay too, but levels 1 and 3 was a big waste of time. Everyone has the capability of performing well because the teachers chose them in 5th grade to be in the school in the first place, so I don't understand why they are going to chose the same group of people every single time to do things. Once confronted about it they said that it was based on talent and not based on the actual person, which is okay in my opinion as long as you don't pick the same person every time you're putting on a production. But then again, once casting for plays or musicals were happening they chose their favorite people to do it. They had a lot of opportunities that the students could partake in throughout the whole year. The performing Arts magnet programs were really good. As a former Performing Arts student Sudbrook had a lot of favoritism. Prepared." in every way.Sudbrook was good, but.its not that greats as everyone portrays it to be. We are happy every day that we made the right decision 10 years ago. ![]() Our graduate will be attending one of the most competitive private HS in the region, and totally ready to go! Looking forward to launching #2. Buildings and grounds are in great shape and constantly being improved. Interesting diversity from international students. Small classes lead to a great learning environment, but naturally challenge extracurriculars and athletics. Hard to do everything as a smaller school, but what they do, they do exceptionally well. ![]() Positive and supportive faith and values based environment. Gotten better each year, and reassuring to see our kids go and leave school happy and enthusiastic every day! Very attentive, creative and engaged faculty and administration. More than a school: a "community" we've been a part of since Kindergarten. Parent: Parent of two students - one current, one just graduated. After going to this school I have a better understanding of the outside world and how to love another person no matter their background or skin tone. I also love that the students are taught to be family, any problems or altercations that happen in or out of the school involving us students is widely talked about so that we understand the situation and what it means and how it could have further effects on us. Not only do you learn about the history of Africa through art, but we are taught from Natives of Africa. The school mostly focus its arts around African history. ![]() One of my favorite things about the school is the arts, taking an art is a requirement and they provide a nice selection. The staff in the school really pushed me to my fullest potential, and they've taught me a lot of things about life. Iv'e been going to this school since the 6th grade. By there being so few amount of kids it is easier to learn and ask questions. Junior: Connexions is a very small school. ![]()
